UK Air Freight Services

Jenkar arranges urgent, scheduled, consolidated and specialist air freight from the UK to international destinations, with one named contact coordinating the route, documents, customs scope and shipment updates.

When speed matters

Air cargo planned around the deadline, goods and route

Air freight is usually considered when delivery time, cargo value, stock availability or the cost of delay outweighs the higher transport rate.

Jenkar compares direct, express, consolidated and charter options against the shipment's ready date and required delivery point. We define what is included before booking: collection, export handling, security screening, airline movement, customs support, destination handling and final delivery can each depend on the chosen route and responsibility split.

Jenkar states that it is an IATA-accredited cargo agent. IATA describes accredited cargo agents as operationally competent, professional partners recognised within its airline distribution network. Accreditation supports the airline relationship; every shipment still has to meet the applicable carrier, customs, security and cargo rules.

Quote essentials

The details that shape an air-freight plan

A comparable quote needs more than a total weight. These four inputs determine available aircraft, chargeable weight, handling and timing.

01
Route
Collection and delivery postcodes or airports
02
Cargo
Piece count, packed dimensions and gross weight
03
Timing
Ready date and required delivery deadline
04
Requirements
Commodity, value, battery or dangerous-goods details

Jenkar confirms the service scope, chargeable weight, routing assumptions, exclusions and quote validity before booking.

01 — 05 What we move by air

From a single urgent box to a chartered freighter

Time-critical
01

Express & time-critical

Direct, priority and next-flight-out options for cargo whose deadline cannot move, subject to route, capacity, screening and acceptance.

  • Next-flight-out routing
  • Hand-carry & priority options
  • Door-to-door coordination
Cost-smart
02

Consolidated air freight

Share space across consignments to balance speed and cost. Air can also reduce packaging, storage and insurance pressure because transit times are shorter.

  • Scheduled consolidations
  • Competitive per-kg rates
  • Lower storage exposure
Bespoke
03

Charter solutions

When scheduled capacity won't do, we arrange dedicated charter aircraft sized precisely to your cargo and timeline.

  • Full-aircraft charter
  • Outsize & project cargo
  • Disaster & relief response
Project cargo logistics
Critical response
04

AOG & aerospace

Aircraft-on-ground parts moved against the clock for aviation and automotive lines, where downtime is the real cost.

  • Urgent routing assessment
  • Handling matched to the part
  • Shipment milestones and escalation
Specialist
05

Oversized & specialist

Heavy, fragile or high-value cargo packed, secured and documented for air, with compliance support for aviation and customs requirements.

  • Out-of-gauge cargo
  • High-value and sensitive cargo
  • Acceptance requirements checked

Always in the know

Real-time visibility, from collection to touchdown

Air-shipment milestones can be viewed through Jenkar's WebTrack and NEO tools where the booked carrier and service provide the underlying events. Your named contact remains responsible for interpreting exceptions and explaining what happens next.

What this example shows: a typical sequence of shipment milestones. It is an illustrative interface, not a live customer consignment or a promise that every carrier reports the same events.

Air freight pricing depends on the route, service speed, chargeable weight, dimensions, handling needs and any collection, customs or final-delivery work. A useful quote needs the origin, destination, ready date, deadline, number of pieces, packed dimensions, gross weight and a clear description of the goods.
Airlines normally compare actual gross weight with volumetric weight and charge using the higher figure. The applicable divisor and rules can vary by carrier and service, so Jenkar confirms the chargeable weight within each quote rather than presenting one universal calculation.
Transit depends on origin, destination, flight availability, security screening, customs, handling and the chosen service. Direct and next-flight-out options can be faster than scheduled consolidation, but timing is confirmed for the specific route and cargo before booking.
IATA says accredited cargo agents are recognised by airlines as financially sound, operationally competent partners within its cargo distribution network. Accreditation supports the airline-agent relationship; it does not remove route, carrier, security, customs or dangerous-goods requirements.
Requirements vary by cargo and trade lane. Common records include a commercial invoice, packing list and air waybill, plus any customs declarations, licences, origin evidence or dangerous-goods documentation that applies. Jenkar checks the shipment scope and identifies the information needed for its part of the movement.
Some dangerous goods can travel by air only when they meet current classification, packing, marking, labelling, documentation, training, carrier and aircraft restrictions. Lithium and sodium-ion batteries have specific rules. Declare the exact goods and battery details before a quote or booking is accepted. See IATA's current battery guidance.
