Felixstowe Confirm Second Strike Date

News, Sea Freight

Dock workers at the Port of Felixstowe have now confirmed they will be striking again this month, with the latest action planned from 27th September 2022.

Port of Felixstowe management had recently applied their wage increase of 7% + £500, without the union’s agreement, but this failed to avoid the next stage of industrial action.

The Unite union confirmed that 82% of their voting members opted to strike in a subsequent ballot. This walk out will now overlap with the Liverpool port strike, which is set for two weeks from 19th September.

The Unite union and its members are responsible for the industrial action planned at both ports, including the previous strike at Felixstowe.

The Jenkar team are watching both situations closely and will bring news of any major developments.
