Logistics Delays Due To Storm Eunice

News

Storm Eunice has arrived on UK shores and is expected to bring winds of up to 90mph to the South West and South East of England, while also disrupting the rest of the UK.

The storm has already had an impact on ocean freight, as the major container ports of Felixstowe, London Gateway and Southampton are already closed. This will likely cause delays to container transport into next week as more backlogs occur.

Transport on the whole will be disrupted today and may be subject to limited services. High vehicles, including articulated lorries, are vulnerable to high winds – not to mention the potential for disruption to roads from fallen trees and debris.

We expect flights to be cancelled during the day, as the winds pick up, but at this point the UK main airports remain open.

Therefore, today will see significant disruption to UK logistics services. Jenkar are monitoring the situation and will notify affected customers accordingly. Should you require further information, then please do not hesitate to contact a member of the team.
