Upcoming Strike to Impact Rail and Transport

News, Sea Freight

Rail workers from the RMT Union have 3 strike days planned this month, which will likely impact container transport via both road and rail freight.

While only 10-12% of UK transport moves by rail, road freight capacity could also be affected, with up to four in five trains expected to stay idol during the industrial action on June 21st, 23rd and 25th.

Container transport relies on the UK’s rail network for collections and deliveries to and from ports, especially for longer journeys. Therefore, without a full train service, this is perhaps likely to be the road service most impacted.

While it is incredibly difficult to predict what will happen next week, three days action in such a short space of time could be quite disruptive. Therefore, we recommend booking early and giving us much notice as possible during the next few days.
