Carriers Tight Lipped Over Mystery Ship Delay

News

Mystery surrounds the steamship vessel ‘APL Vanda’ which has been idling off the coast of Djibouti, since the 3rd July.

The 17,000 teu vessel was en-route to the UK and Europe from China and due to arrive in Southampton on 17th July. However, an unexplained incident has occurred with the vessel that could lead to delays of over 2 weeks.

Strangely, the ocean Alliance carriers have remained tight lipped about what happened to the vessel and have just described it as an ‘unexpected incident’.

Initially, they advised that the vessel would omit the Southampton port call and the cargo would be discharged at Rotterdam.

However, in an even stranger turn of events, they have now advised that the vessel will move to the Moroccan port of Tangiers, where cargo will be transhipped to another vessel that will bring the cargo to the UK.

The mystery continues.
