Nationwide Truck Driver Strike In Spain

A national truck driver strike is impacting logistics in Spain, and disrupting traffic in and out of major cities.

The strike, which started this week and is currently set to continue indefinitely, has seen truckers attempting to block traffic in Spain’s largest cities, including Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia.

Spanish truck drivers have opted to strike over rising fuel costs and general working conditions, with costs becoming considerably worst since the Ukraine conflict and subsequent sanctions. As things stand, moving road freight transport in Spain has become more difficult.

There are also suggestions that truck drivers in other European countries may follow suit, with both Italy and France rumoured to expect similar action this month.
